We all have a story inside of us. Sometimes those stories rise to the top and flow out of us. Storytelling can impact us in our day-to-day lives, and these stories intertwine us together to become who we are as a people and as a society.
It was the great pleasure of Garden Toledo to host two Prinecton graduates as they shared with us their love of literature and different ways to interpret it. Logan Sander and Ruth Chang showed us how authors use different methods of writing to convey thoughts, dreams, sorrows, joys and aspirations, allowing us to be transported to a whole new place. A good author brings his or her readers into the story and makes them feel as if they are right there.
Our children also learned some valuable lessons in how to read and interact with words - how words can fuel our imagination, inspire creativity or shape our future. Literature is timeless. It can take us into our past, guide our present, and take us beyond our own limitations. Literature truly sets us free!
