What causes a young man or woman to become a firefighter? For some, it is a drive or passion gained in early childhood. For others, it can be the admiration and respect of watching a family member live the daily life of a firefighter. And still there are those that find this as their calling after many years of working in a job that does not satisfy, and that they do not fit into. No matter how these men and women came to be here, we are very grateful.
It was truly our privilege to meet and get to know the men of Station House #1. In our time together, we truly got to see the humanity behind the bravery and heroism. These five men truly have enthusiasm, passion and dedication to one another and to the job. Each of them are trained and equipped to handle any situation that may come their way. We are very fortunate to have the best trained firefighters and the best equipment here in Sylvania. We cannot say enough about these men. With a grateful heart, we say thank you!
