Learning Sensory-biology with our bio-engineer 2.13.2018
For many generations, man has been fascinated with the inner workings of the body. Through inquisitive research, we have found some answers and have been able to mimic some of the most intricate processes of the human body, such as how the lenses in our eyes work and how our ears hear. Through the advancement in technology, we have developed cameras that mimic the human eye and microphones that mimic the functions of the human voice and ear drum. We learned that this blending of biology with technology is called biomimicry. This field of study is expanding in this day and age.
The children also enjoyed several “optical illusions” to demonstrate how the mind quickly processes the information it is given. Sometimes it is not 100% accurate, so it “makes suggestions” and interprets what it “wants to see” until all that information arrives and is finally processed in the brain.
How amazing our brain is! After Alex’s inspired teaching, our children have even more of a love of science and are being forged into the scientists and researchers of tomorrow!
